I had so much fun organizing this kitchen!
Creating space vs. utilizing space are so different because you get to be creative and innovative, which I LOVE! I have a bit of an artistic side (my father is an artist) that I like to dabble in from time to time.
The ULTIMATE goal for this client was to:
1. Remove all the clutter from her HUGE island.
2. Find space in her cabinets so her counters didn't look so cluttered.
3. Create a pantry that would remove everything off the floor (kids' snacks, beverages, dog food)
With an island as big as hers it's so EASY to just place anything and everything on the counter which you don't want to do because it will just add up. It starts with batteries, that turns to chargers....that turns to a bowl of change. It's a never ending cycle. Here, we just wanted to place the necessities, along with flowers and a candle.
She really wanted to utilize her walls and empty floor space to give more room to walk...let's be real....she needed more room for her two crazy kids and precious dog Lola to run around.
Which is why we created a pantry shelf look using the IKEA ALGOT system. This system is tailored to YOU and adaptable to your storage needs.
Additionally, we wanted to create spaces where everything was in one place and not in different areas of the kitchen. This is a beautiful kitchen with many cabinets and great space that we were able to utilize. As a bonus, with all the empty counter space, we were able to create different stations such as her Coffee Station and a separate Tea Station.
